on books...

i've decided to start recommending some books via my blog page...
i love to read. why? because it's like watching a movie in my mind. it's an escape into another world that only your imagination can travel to. movies of books only destroy the imagination in your mind. here are some of my latest reads...

the mommy myth, and how it has undermined women: nonfiction read that was quite interesting for all you mothers

the saving graces: the story of an amazing group of 4 friends

the lovely bones: just a great read, told by a young girl up in heaven

perfectly posing...

nico and lukey had the same curl hanging down on the left side of their forehead. they of course suck the same thumb. as mehr would say, " i just want to love them, and squeeze them and hug them!"

as you can see the mess around them. it travels wherever they go and i don't get a handle on it till they go night, night. my amazing mom, on the other hand, when i come home there is not a mess in sight! i just don't know how she does it!

my mother in law always has something wonderful to eat for all of us. and my husband has all 3 boys under control and happy and no one is crying. they all do a great job helping me when i'm at work. thank you to my babysitting team!!!

summer is...

summer is...
slurpees from 7-11, especially coke ones
hot dry breezes coming thru our torn backyard screen door
our boys playing with the water hose
sitting in the wading pool at del valle park
standing in the bay watching lukey and nico throw wet sand
watering my lawn at dusk and it's not cold out
driving around with the radio loud and the windows down
wearing tank tops after tank tops and flip flops
my birthday
the smell of bbqs bbquing
the smell of fireworks popping
sunny day after sunny day
my summer will soon be away only to be coming again some day

at the end of the day

at the end of the day here nico is smiling and happy.

and of course there i am looking dreadful and exhausted. i just can't do it i feel lots of times. i often wonder...how do working parents keep their sanity? how do people keep their blinds, bathrooms, floors and rooms clean and tidy? without a mess of mail and other paper sorts on the kitchen counter? how do they have time to put wonderful scrap books together or make beautiful, delicious home cooked meals?

many times, people ask me how do you do it? well, i don't. i don't do it all. i just do the best i can. what i do have down, is getting out of the house with my boys all of them yes. we've gone to the pool, bay and zoo, movies once and errands sometimes too.

and you want to know what? i absolutely hate it when people in publice make the stupid comment "my, you sure have got your hands full!" no freaking kidding. i'd have a couple thousand dollars by now if each one of those lame people gave me a $1 for each time it has been said. so next time you see me around town, try something better like "it won't always be this hard, or you're doubly blessed. " alright out for now. time to hit the books and get ready for another day of students and then my own troop at home.

tiny tots swimming

this summer has been filled with daily swimming lessons for cyrus. he likes going but is petrified of the "jumping board days". and he seems to think that if he puts his head underwater, he'll drown. too cautious about everything, that's why he didn't walk till he was 15 months old. he'll be in for another 2 weeks. and next summer, all 3 can be in it and i can just watch from behind the gate and maybe, just maybe, be able to actually read a book while i'm waiting. i love his smiling face...

new addition...

sofie came to us in late june...what can i say except that puppies will be puppies. the boys enjoy her and she is quite used to their ways. nico and lukey call her fofie. i love the way they call her.
